Marist Football Club
Marist FC is pleased to confirm the capture of defender Joachim Waroi and Goalkeeper Anthony Talo from Western United. They are the two latest players set to join Marist FC ahead of the new season 2017-2018. The duo had spent a season long (2016-2017) with S-League runner up Western United with almost all the competitive appearance for the men in Orange.
Waroi began his football career with Marist FC before joining Hekari of Papua New Guinea from 2010-2015. He had a short stint with Amicale in 2012, Lae City Dwellers 2016, FC Guadalcanal 2016 and Western United 2016-2017. The 28 year old defender has been a key player for Western United last season. His inclusion to the team will further strengthen our defence as we focused on retaining the league title this season.
Anthony Talo has been the Western United first choice keeper last season and may be a challenger for the number one jersey should Mango leave for Real Kakamora. There is still uncertainty surrounding our number one keeper Philip Mango who is likely to leave.
