Marist Futsal Club crowned champions of top 8 futsal challenge today at multi-purpose hall.
A two week long competition concluded today with Marist futsal claiming the title followed by NGU Brothers (runner-up) and Indo-solo (third place). There were total of 8 strong futsal clubs in Honiara participated in the tournament. The clubs include Marist, NGU Brothers, Indo-Solo, Gantatic, Henderson Eels, Fera FC, Cool Line and Sokamora. Marist claimed 6 straight wins with only one defeat throughout the tournament.
“Consistently we have been the best team in the competition” Marist Futsal captain Francis Lafai said. “As the captain, I am very happy. I want to thank my boys for very good performance throughout the tournament. The competition itself was very tough, but I am glad we won the title. During every match, I told my boys to give their best, “he said. “I can see my boys have played accordingly to what we’ve practiced during every training sessions. As I’ve said earlier, it’s was a very tough competition because there were also top clubs with good players competing against us but we manage to came out winners. Once again, I want to thank my boys for fine performance and contribution since day 1 until today”.
