The two visiting Coaches from Barcelona, Hugo and Pau bids emotional farewell to Marist FC yesterday as they will leave for Spain today 4:15pm.
Marist FC hosted a farewell BBQ lunch at the sea side yesterday at west Honiara. It was a memorable final moment the club has shown its appreciation to Hugo and Pau who were part of Marist for the last 4weeks. It’s a history for the club to have the two coaches from Barcelona coming over and engaged with us for 1 solid month.
Marist Head coach Juliano in his speech yesterday, he thanked the two coaches who travelled almost half way across the world just to be with Marist FC for 1 month.
“On behalf of the club and the players, I would like to say thankyou very much Hugo and Pau. Thankyou for the successful one month you’ve spent with us.”
“I had an amazing time with you guys,” Hugo said in his farewell speech yesterday. “It’s not just because of the holiday but, I decided to come, I prefer to come to Solomon Islands because I know this country loves football. For us its more than a holiday, you guys are amazing. I will always remember every moments I’ve spent with you guys here.” Hugo said.
Tearful Pau was very emotional yesterday. “It was an unbelievable experience for us, and you’re not only friendly and nice but you guys are amazing, you’re forever my friends and will always be remembered. I’d like to thank all the players and everybody for the last 4weeks, it’s been fantastic great fun, and I’ve really enjoyed it.”
Speaking yesterday on behalf of Marist players, Jerry Sam also thanked Hugo and Pau for their effort and time they have spent with Marist for the past 4weeks. “We have learned a lot of new things from you. Your coming is a blessing to us. You’ve taught us with a lot new things and we’ve learned a lot“. He said.
Also speaking on behalf of the players, team captain Jeffery Bule and Abraham Iniga delivered their speech to Hugo and Pau. Few gifts were also handed over by head coach Juliano, Bule and Iniga on behalf of Marist and the players.
Hugo and Pau will leave for Australia 4:15pm today, both will return back to Barcelona at the end of this month (August).
